EKG

Robbie had to get an EKG today. I was kinda worried when I heard about this but I guess since his dad has had a heart attack and heart failure, they just want to see how he's doing. I'm glad they are taking precautions to monitor him. It actully makes me feel better but he's only 9!! I thought this was a cute picture of him... he's so brave :)

The Human Slingshot

Ok so a while back I went down to Provo to hang out with Lenzie, and we decided to go hang out with Lenzie's friends. We drove down through springville and into a canyon where there are million dollar houses to meet up with them. They said they were at his uncles house and we needed to come check out this human slingshot... It sounds crazy I know. So we get there and we hear screaming... I was totally freaked out to go on it but I knew it would regret it if i didn't go! Here are some pics of me. They hook you up to a fourwheeler and drive in the opposite direction as far as possible and let go. It was so much fun!!

It was on Nitro Circus (a show where famous riders do crazy stuff) and I was so excited I did something they had done. Apparently they were there just the night before... AMAZING

books.books.books.

Today I had the orientation meeting of the LPN program and it was intense. So overwhelming and intimidating! haha They said that if you had kids consider them neglected and anyone else in your life. Sheesh they are serious! haha Well it makes sense but come on! I'm glad I don't have kids :) Our schedule consists of class time Monday and Tuesday, Lab time on Wednesday, and Clinicals Thursday and Friday. I am so nervous. I was talking to a guy that works with me who just graduated from the program last year and he said that you get tested on 2 chapters a week and he probably read each chapter 3-4 times! WOW I have a lot of reading to do. Did you see the picture of my books? I don't know what I'm gonna do! haha I had to use a wheelchair to wheel my books to my car. AGGGH!! Somehow I'll get through it :)
PS thanks for the books Mom :)

Angels Fans!

When we went to California for the weekend a few weeks ago, I forced Landon to go to the Angel's Game. He just thought it was a lot of people and wasn't really interested. I'm sure he would have wanted to stay with my stepdad and talk about palm trees or cacti haha (I'm serious) but anyways I FINALLY got the pictures from Kayla... So here they are!

She was brought up to strongly dislike the Dodgers...

"Significant Other"

I got accepted into the LPN program! It starts the 25th of August and will be Monday through Friday all day long! The orientation is on Tuesday and they are having a lunch for us and our "significant others" to show us what we will be doing. I think it's funny that they actually said you and your "significant other" are invited in the letter. haha. I guess that shows what kind of world we live in. My "significant other" will be in Wyoming of course...

Update on my life... I started working at the Villa in Roosevelt at the skills wing. It's hard work but I'm starting to get a routine down so I'm not so behind anymore :) I have 10 residents each day that I just take care of. (Make sure they get down to breakfast and lunch... and whatever else they need) I'm starting to like working there but definitely can't wait until I don't have to be at the bottom of the totem pole anymore :)

I feel so out of touch with everybody... hopefully that will change soon. I miss everyone. <3

Woah I haven't blogged in awhile! This past weekend I went to visit family and friends in California and to have a little procedure done. A month ago I got my wisdom teeth out and the surgery went fine. Turns out they got infected so I needed to go back to California to get it drained... gross I know. But everything turned out fine, I just have to be on antibiotics for 2 weeks! I got in yesterday at 3 and met Landon in Provo. We registered at Bed, Bath & Beyond! It was seriously so much fun. Landon was very tired and pretty unsure about the whole thing until we got the scanner. Then he loved it. haha It was so much fun picking stuff out for our life together! We have such similar taste it was actually quite easy. We registered for stuff we need and some stuff just for fun. I also made a wedding website that just lets people who don't know us very well who we are. This weekend was pretty fun and relaxing! Better go study for my Physiology test...

Engagements...

Engagement Pictures.
*sigh*
So yesterday Katie and Alex took some pictures of us up the Canyon. THANKS! I really love it up there! It's gorgeous!! Landon HATES taking pictures. I know, I know, hate is a strong word but it fits perfectly. Loathe might actually be better. Nevertheless we got through it and got some great shots!

Here are a few that are our favorites so far...Katie and Alex are amazing I must add.

This Weekend

This weekend was so fun! Very family-oriented :) It also made me miss Landon a lot... GOOD NEWS: Landon comes home Wednesday!!!! Probably the best birthday present I'll get! YAY! Ok back to Easter... Saturday morning we went to the Bluebell park and went to an easter egg hunt that was put on by the Bluebell Store. It was pretty fun but cold! Bishop Miles so kindly reminded me that they don't have my age bracket but I could probably fit in with the 12 year olds. Hopefully this will change soon because I really wish I can just look my age!! lol I guess later on in life it won't be a bad thing :) After that we came to Brandi's and dyed eggs and talked. Heather, Shanelle and I went on a mile run. Heather inspired us so we went along with her in the rain! I want to try and run 3 times a week at least! Then I went to the Nelsons and played games and got an easter basket :) thanks!! I left and went to Ramona's where we ate dinner and played more cards :) Sunday was stake conference and EASTER! The easter bunny left a surprise in my account which was nice :) thanks!! We went to Ramona's again to eat and play cards. Ryan and I killed Brandi and Shanelle in Hand and Foot. Then I went back to the Nelson's. They had a fire pit at "the flats" and roasted mallows. I ended up staying there until 1 in the morning talking with my soon to be in laws! haha It was a good talk... Easter was so fun and I'm so glad that the Savior died for us so that we can repent for our sins and return to be with Him one day!

Park City

Saturday I went snowboarding with Aubree at Park City. I've never been because it is too expensive and too far away. Aubree schemed free passes and invited me. I love snowboarding with her. We are a good match. It was sooooooo much thereI wish I could've gone more this winter... and with Landon a little more. Oh well there is always next winter :) I was a little concerned about how sore I was going to be after. I usually am in a lot of pain in my quads, triceps, and butt. Mostly injuries from falling haha. Well it turns out it really wasn't too bad! I'm hardly sore anymore! YAY! Here are some pictures we took.

Honest Scrap

I have been passed this little "Honest Scrap", which means I am supposed to tell you some things (10 but I might not be able to think of that many) that you may not know about me. Here I go...

1. I'm starting to love photography... I wish I had the talent and the Camera!
2. I am a clean freak with everything but my bedroom... haha
3. I was a bully in Elementary school!!
4. I love going to the beach but I'm not the biggest fan of the water... its always just a pain. You get all sandy and its always freezing. Ok maybe I like the water I just hate getting out afterwards
5. I like to try new things but not with an audience. I get so nervous!
6. My first word was "no"
7. I love dance parties with just girls
8. I'm pro at changing in the car (usually just from my school clothes to workout clothes)
9. Everyone asks me for help on their iPods/iPhones/iTunes and I really have no idea what I'm doing most of the time... usually I just guess lucky
10. I was a Cheerleader for 6 years (2 in middle and 4 in high school) and learned how to do a back tuck in the air

OK I'm sending this to...
Kiara, Angie, Brandi, Aubree, and Alissa!!

Parties, Prizes, and Powder

I went out to Provo again this weekend. I got there Friday night grabbed some Spoon Me with Aubree and Lauren, then headed to Marissa's house. My cousin Marissa invited me to go to her party she was having at her house. I was a little hesitant because she's 15 lol. It was actually really fun. We watched twilight and then played truth or dare. I haven't played that since I was 15 I think hahaha.

Saturday morning I met up with Lauren and Aubree again at Chipotle :) I love that place. I remember so many times meeting up with them at Chipotle in California. Funny how things change but stay the same! So I had been wanting to go to this Bridal show at Thanksgiving Point so we decided to go... It was pretty interesting. There were a lot of vendors there with different things to offer. I got some pretty cool ideas. The best part of the show was that I won a free engagements session with Green Apple Photography!! I'm obsessed with her pictures! http://www.greenapplephotography.blogspot.com/. We went and tried on more wedding dresses and it helped but I'm still not for sure if I have the one! I totally would if it wasn't so much money...

Aubree told me about this thing in Spanish Fork she wanted to go to called the Festival of Colors. It was at the Hare Krishna Temple. This festival represents the passing of winter into spring, "Holi". Traditionally, colored powder or water is thrown to signify the joy and colors of spring arriving. It was soooo fun!! I really felt like I was a Hippie at a cleaner version of Woodstock or something. It was insane how many people were there. I wasn't there for the beginning powder throw and I am sort of glad. People said they were breathing in the chalk for about 7 minutes. No thank you! By the time it would have settled to my level it would have been like 10 minutes! lol
It was one of the coolest experiences!

Finally Set the Date!!!

Ok so after wayyyyy too much thinking and figuring out details, we set a date to get married!
AUGUST 14th. SAN DIEGO TEMPLE. 10 am.
Wow it's such a relief! I called them to make the appointment and I had no idea how many questions they ask. Hahaha! They lady asked for my fiance's full named and sorta giggled when told her all four of them (First, middle, middle, Last). I thought it was funny lol. So I'm getting pretty excited not just stressed. It seems so official now :) I told my mom of the plans I made and she was relieved we finally decided so she can book the reception place. I think we are planning on staying in San Diego the night before so we will have time to be ready by 9! I am having a reception the night of in Riverside and one the day after in Irvine. When I called my dad, he was pretty excited and had a bunch of really good ideas. When him and my step mom got married in San Diego they rented this place for like an hour that looks over the beach to take pictures at. I love this idea and maybe we can do an exchanging of rings thing there! He said that it didn't work out for them though cause people went to go check out of their hotels before they went over and it was too late once people started getting there. But that's not gonna happen to me right?? ;) He also mentioned maybe that night we should get a hotel room in Irvine or close so we won't have to get 2 rooms before we leave (hopefully to Mexico on a cruise) but we will see because I really want to stay at the Mission Inn. My mom and step dad stayed there a few nights after they were married. Wow I didn't notice that I follow in my parents footsteps so often lol so those are my tentative plans....

I forgot where I came from!

I was on the phone with my dad the other day and this is how the conversation went...
Dad: Kassie I've been meaning to tell you, I was looking at your blog and it says born and raised in California.

Kassie: Ya....
Dad: Kass where were you born?

Kassie: OHHHHH! lol Provo...

So basically I think I'm having dementia issues. Really, who forgets what state they were born in?

If I had a Million Dollars

For some odd reason the song, "If I Had a Million Dollars" has been stuck in my head lol :) I have been thinking a lot about money lately and of course stressing. I was just playing on the computer, (when I should have been studying for my anatomy test) and found some funny quotes about money I thought you'd enjoy...

It is better to spend money like there's no tomorrow than to spend tonight like there's no money.

The safest way to double your money is to fold it over once and put it in your pocket.

A man who has a million dollars is as well off as if he were rich ( are millionaires not considered rich anymore??)

When people ask me if I have any spare change, I tell them I have it at home in my spare wallet.

Ever wonder about those people who spend $2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.

There were times my pants were so thin I could sit on a dime and tell if it was heads or tails.

Money won't buy happiness, but it will pay the salaries of a large research staff to study the problem.

My Trip to P Town

Me and Brandi decided to go to Provo last night to change our scenery and its my Spring Break! I picked up my ring!! It's so good to have it back haha. I finally got to go to Cafe Rio last night! haha I LOVE that place. So then we surprised my friends Lenzie and Chelsea and hung out with them for a bit and caught up on life. It was pretty fun to see them again, they are so entertaining! This morning we woke up and went to the ring store and then decided to go to the mall. I love window shopping (especially if that's all you can do with less than no money lol). I got a few things but not without clearance! haha We ate at Olive Garden and stuffed ourselves! Then we decided to face the scary world of wedding dresses. I honestly was so nervous walking into the first bridal store and I'm not sure why. I found a few dresses I liked and thinking back on them I really LOVE two of them. One already is modest and the other isn't and I don't really like that. I don't like when you can tell you had sleeves added. We will see what happens. It was pretty hard not having my mom there. I actually hated it. I just want her opinion and her to help me make the final decisions. I guess it happens to a lot of people who go out of state for college, but it's different when it's you. Maybe she can make it out soon but we will see. It's going to be super hard to plan a reception in California when I am here and vice versa. There is so many details that we still have to figure out that is sort of stressing me out. (like a DATE!!) Sorry to vent but tonight I realized this wedding is going to be pretty emotional and hopefully I can fight through it. I'm glad to know my loved ones love and support me in my decisions and that will only make it easier. Thanks for coming Brandi!

Here is preston and me playing on the Dinosaur playground in the mall. He's so cute!

Babysitting 4 Kids!

So Shawn and Heather went to Nauvoo last weekend and I watched their kids. We had a pretty fun and eventful time. On Friday when I got there Hannah had a 103 temperature and wasn't feeling too good. The other kids were ecstatic to see me and wanted to show and tell me all of the new things of theirs that I haven't seen before. Caleb was a little uneasy at first but turned out to be connected to me and actually saying my name! (Before whenever I would say "say Kassie" he would say "LANDON!!" so it was a successful visit! haha)
We had to stay entertained because if the kids were bored they would let me know! haha So we did all kinds of things like watched the dances Sarah and Weston made up...
gave Caleb a Mohawk...
went to visit Landon at the Gateway and watched the water show...
played games at the apple store while we waited for Landon's phone to get fixed...went downtown to see a play and rode the "rain" (train) as Caleb would say...We crammed a lot into one weekend! After we got home from the play Hannah told me, "I'm gonna puke!" and ran into the bathroom and did exactly that. And then she did it once an hour that whole night. It wasn't too bad after I changed the sheets twice and then decided to make her a bed by the toilet. She would fall right back to sleep after she would do her deed but I can't say the same for me. I didn't sleep much that night but it was okay. The next day she was pretty weak so we painted nails and did hair to make her feel better. The overall weekend was pretty fun and I'm glad I could help out! Heather said that it would be the best kind of birth control and I don't disagree at all! hahaha I love her kids but there's no way I could do that everyday! It makes me grateful for all moms everywhere!

We are engaged!!

Wow it's still weird to say it out loud! Okay so here's how it happened but this is just my point of view and my feelings so sorry if its too many details...

First of all Landon was supposed to go back East Monday but had a little mishap with the ticket dates :) So he came over and I was still in my pajamas and he was a little frustrated and was rushing me (now I understand why, and if I would have had a heads up on what would be happening later that day I might have been a little faster lol). So after I got ready we went to Swaseys and bought some food to make for lunch. Once we got to his house he suggested going on a picnic. So we packed up our food and went on a four-wheeler ride just behind his house. I know what you are all thinking... you totally knew it was coming right? Well I told Landon that as soon as he was all romantic one day, I was totally gonna know but he said that maybe he would fake me out a few times first. So I just thought it was gonna be just a plain romantic lunch haha. He wasn't even supposed to be in town so how would he have planned this and why wouldn't he have proposed before he left if he actually had a ring?? haha well despite my pessimistic attitude he surprised me. So I haven't been feeling very good, so we were laying on the rock after lunch just talking. He sat up real quick and reached into his pocket. I was pretty confused and got nervous. He took his phone out of his pocket and said, "Oh I just missed a call." haha. Landon just bought new True Religions and he asked me, " hey does your pants have this little pocket?" (the little pocket inside the big pocket on the front of your pants) and I said "yaaa". He said "how deep does it go?". Then he reached in his pants and pulled out the ring. He had a huge smile on his face and said. "Kassie Lynn Fausett will you marry me?" (I just had a huge adrenaline rush just typing that!!) I gave him a huge hug which was kinda scary cause we were close to falling off the rock haha. Of course I was crying but I couldn't stop smiling! There is no doubt in my mind that we are meant to be together for time and all eternity!

We both wanted to take pictures of the moment so here is one we took after the proposal!!! I love my ring!!

It's funny looking back at the day because he was so antsy and nervous but I really didn't notice then!

Ya we don't know any details but we are aiming for getting married this June, hopefully sometime this summer in the Salt Lake Temple :) I'll let you know when I know more!
I'm so excited to be Kassie Nelson!!

My Family

Okay so since I don't really have anything to blog about, I thought I'd tell you about my family! It gets a little complicated so hopefully you can keep up :)

This is my parents (Kirk and Shari) and Kayla! My parents were married August 17, 1985 in the Provo temple. My dad owns his own business doing financial planning, investment real estate, and many other things I don't really know about. He loves that he can work from home and be around more to work around his children's busy schedules! My dad has always supported me in my decisions and has always been my number 1 fan. My mom teaches at Riverside Community College in the Early Childhood Studies department, and is the department chair along with being a full time faculty member. She has taught almost every grade! (I think there is like 3 or 4 that she hasn't) My mom and I have been best friends since before I can remember, I don't know what it is but there is something about when you are around her that makes you just want to be a better person. Some people think we look a lot alike and others not so much. What do you think? Both of my parents are extreme workaholics but they both LOVE what they do and I don't think they would change it if they could... maybe the pay but I bet that's it :) I admire them both in different ways and they have been such a great example to me. Sooooo... things didn't quite work out for the two of them but I got new family members out of it that I wouldn't trade for anything!

Kayla and I are 2 years apart and have always been really close. We've never really been separated for too long and so we have always had each other to depend on. Kayla is a very outgoing, well-rounded, loving person who likes to be the center of attention. hahaha I wouldn't say that except she is majoring in theater so you know what I mean! Possibly teaching too so after her time in the movies she can be a theater teacher somewhere :) I look up to her for many different reasons.
My Dad and Deena were married April 7,1995 in the San Diego temple, and made a little family of their own! Deena has a wonderful bubbly, loving, and thoughtful kind of personality. She helps my dad with his business (I'm sure he couldn't do it without her) and she home schools my little sister in the midst of everything else going on in her life! She is a really good mother. Kiara is 12 now and is really turning out to be a cool little girl haha. When she came along I think I was pretty jealous cause I'd been the baby for so long! There is 7 years between us and that gap seems to get smaller each time I talk to her. Kallie is 3 now and is a little ball of energy! I've never met a little kid that never stops. Literally NEVER! Maybe when she is asleep... We had the privilege to adopt Kallie the second she was born in the American Fork hospital. My parents were actually in the delivery room anxiously awaiting her arrival! Kallie's ethnicity is from Puerto Rica and India.

My Mom and David were married on December 26, 1997 but he really has been part of our family since about 1995 I think. David has been a security guard, then a truck driver, then a dad :) Some people might think he's kind of intimidating but he really is a sweet guy underneath the cop attitude! haha David and I have gotten along from the beginning and I'm so glad it's only getting better. David has a heart condition that causes him to need a difibrillator, which I think is kinda cool. Scary but cool. David is very into Nascar and anything really to do with cars and motorcycles. He fixes everything and is amazingly precise at whatever he is doing. He's always been into adventures and I absolutely love him for it!

Robbie is 8 and is the perfect little brother! We are 11 years apart but I feel pretty close to him and love every inch of him! Robbie loves anything that has to do with a TV (movies, cable, playstation, wii, PSP, anything!) Before he could form big sentences he could put a movie in and push play. He's actually quite good with what he enjoys. Robbie plays baseball, which he claims to dislike until he's on the field. He is in scouts and has the most badges in his pack... I think that's what its called. He loves school, and is starting to love swimming since we got a pool and is getting quite good!

Well I think I've bragged about my family enough but they are mine and I love each of them! My family is a little confusing but that's what makes us unique!

The New Blog

Ok so I decided to try out this whole blog thing and we will see how it goes... It's a lot more confusing then I thought haha. I had to call my 12 year old little sister to help me! I've never felt to technologically challenged! It's a new weird feeling to have. Now I know how my parents feel :)
